Disaster Area

I never understood why people would want to live in any area that may get decimated every year.
I think about the constant question people ask about natural disasters "why would God do such things to innocent people?"
God isn't anything if he isn't predictable
These disasters happen every year just about.
mudslides, fires, hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, floods, etc.
It's not like it's a big surprise.
It's like these people are gambling
Why would you build a house and cross your fingers hoping you won't be the next victim of an inevitable disaster?
I guess I don't blame insurance companies now. I was kinda pissed when I first learned that I'd have to buy separate policies for flooding and earthquakes. Those policies costing more than my entire homeowner's package.

Economic solution: Split 'em up

We're getting screwed by banks that are "too big to fail"
Put them all on the chopping block.
If I had my way, all companies would be local. There wouldn't be any companies that had nationwide service.
The most I would allow is franchising.
I'd enact a law stating that a company can only operate within a city.
I would, once again, separate retail banks, investment banks, and insurance companies.
