When you are hired for a job, you sign a w-4.
That form allows your employer to withhold taxes from your paycheck.

Who has refused to sign a w-4?

Taxation is not slavery either. The comparison is ignorant.

Intellectual Property

US Constitution

To promote the Progress of Science and useful Arts, by securing for limited Times to Authors and Inventors the exclusive Right to their respective Writings and Discoveries;


Intellectual Property should not be allowed to be transferred.
Once a person relinquishes their rights to their intellectual property, that property should be free for public use.

"(2) Term.— Subject to the payment of fees under this title, such grant shall be for a term beginning on the date on which the patent issues and ending 20 years from the date on which the application for the patent was filed in the United States or, if the application contains a specific reference to an earlier filed application or applications under section 120, 121, or 365 (c), from the date on which the earliest such application was filed."

"The law automatically protects a work that is created and fixed in a tangible medium of expression ... from the moment of its creation and gives it a term lasting for the author’s life plus an additional 70
years (or more depending on when the copyright was created."

This is ridiculous.

These terms need to be greatly reduced. My first instinct is drop it to a decade, maybe even 5 years.

The USA and Personal Liberty


Right after the Constitution was Ratified,
The federal government conscripted all Free Able-bodied White Males between 18 and 45
After the Constitution was Ratified, The federal government would not decide on voting rights of women, so the states created legislation to deny women the right to vote.
A woman's property was under the control of her father or husband.
Husbands were allowed to Assault their wives.

And last but not least, People were allowed to OWN other people.
The Original Constitution even stated:
*No Person held to Service or Labour in one State, under the Laws thereof, escaping into another, shall, in Consequence of any Law or Regulation therein, be discharged from such Service or Labour, But shall be delivered up on Claim of the Party to whom such Service or Labour may be due.*
The Constitution allowed Business owners to use the Force of the State to deny people Basic Life, Liberty, and Property.

So, If you really want an historical example of a free market, the US never qualified

From student to worker

I agree that financial institutions are making money off of college students. I agree that the cost of higher education in America is stupid.
Ever since the government reduced subsidies to colleges, prices have skyrocketed.

People rarely talk to children about credit and it's affect on their lives. Which is why they're ripe when they move away from home and have to make financial decisions by themselves.
People rarely promote community college has a cheaper and valid alternative to a four year expensive school.

Now I'm going to be that guy. When I was deciding to go to college, the one thing that scared me more than anything was student loans. For whatever reason, I thought that this was the worse idea. I ended up joining the Navy. I know a lot of people won't respect that decision, and I really don't care. But, I got an education and money to further my education.

Higher education is a big deal. It's still a good investment if you do it right. Much better to have a viable degree than just a high school diploma.
A big problem in today's job market is that people aren't qualified for the jobs that are out there.
I like the idea of businesses working with colleges to help students get the education they need.

The best advice I could give is this,
Start volunteering early during K-12. Get a summer job as soon as you can. Start earning your own money and learn about managing that money.
I'd encourage kids to apply for every grant and scholarship they can, even if they don't think they qualify.
Go to a cheap community college or take cheap online courses and get the core classes and drunken sex out of the way.

Take a little time to look at the job market and see what interests them first. Volunteer in industries that catch their eye.
Once they find something that pulls them, go to the HR department of a couple of businesses and find out what education background they're looking for. Find out what education benefits they give their employees.
Tailor your education to the career you wish to pursue.
Check in at least every quarter to keep up with changes in the industry.
Seek out companies that provide tuition assistance or pay for certificates and licenses.

If you can't figure out what you want to do, postpone college.
Learn a trade, get a license or certificate in a field that interests you.

Realize that you will have to start from the bottom and work your way up.
You will not be making the money you want to make when you first enter the workforce.
Time and Hard work is the key to increased pay. The only way around that is knowing the right people.
Remember to network when you volunteer/intern or work part time jobs.

As for those who already have student debt. sucks.
I can't get down with loan forgiveness or defaulting on loans.
I would like to see Work-Study programs completely replace loan programs.
If we had to keep some loan programs, I'd like to see a zero interest rate for government loans.
I'd like to see a Tuition reimbursement for community service program for people who already have student debt.
Tuition would be reimbursed for every year of community service

Why government is involved in marriage

Marriage is and has always been about property rights. 

I do think that Marriage is a business deal above all else. It is a transfer/merger of property. And women were considered property. If they weren't considered property themselves, they were surely the human conduit by which the property was exchanged/consolidated.
A woman's property was controlled by her father or her husband.

Now most of us are not forced into a merger by our family, we create the merger based on our own criteria

Property law gives immediate family members rights to your property and the ability to make decisions for you without a will or power of attorney
A marriage adds a person to your immediate family. It gives that person more rights over your property than your other family members

A marriage license is used in lieu of a will or a power of attorney.

Composition of a Family. 
 Something different all together. Family is what we should be meditating on. Again, what it can look like, what it means, how we (the community) will support it
I think marriages fail because they shouldn't have been united in the first place.

I love the idea of the person performing the marriage requesting a couple get marriage counseling before they get marriage
The counselor can facilitate a discussion about marriage. Why they are getting married.

I think people are too caught up in 'right or wrong' that they miss the actual meaning behind it. I tend not to think in those terms. I think in terms of healthy/unhealthy, suffering/well-being. Thinking about an action and it's real consequences. And knowing the receipt of those consequences depend on the individual.

Ask yourself if you are willing to consider this person a family member bonded like your blood relatives.
