Resist

Stupid iPhone 4. I leave in a month or so. Why does it have to come out now? It's probably going to be sold out by the time I can grab one.
My upgrade is in November. I get back in February.
To get it now, I have to pay an extra 200 bucks no matter how I shake it. Then I can't use it when I leave.
This sucks

Deep Thought

Marianne Williamson
If you're looking at the world and not grieving, then you're not conscious. But if you're looking at the world and not rejoicing in the miraculous possibilities for healing it, then you're spiritually immature.

Deep Thought

Marianne Williamson

Whenever you have a problem, pray: "Dear God, I am willing to see this situation differently. Amen."

Deep Thought

Marianne Williamson

Watch where you put your faith. Do you have more faith In the power of your disasters, or in the power of God to transform them?

Deep Thought

Maya Angelou

I deal very little in facts, facts can obscure the truth, you can tell so many facts you never get to the truth, you can tell the places where, the people who, the times when, the reasons why, and never get to the human truth which is love and pain and loss and triumph.

Albert Einstein once said "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"

perils of capitalism

Slavery
Resource destruction
Monopoly
Buying govt.

Protection from capitalism

Capitalism needs a mechanism that protects workers and consumers. Something besides the government.

The consumer needs things like:
Consumer groups
Media keeping public informed of business practices
public record
Freedom of information

Workers need things like:
Democratic unions. Unions that do not try to shut out free agents.
Democratic Corporations
Coops
Workers own at least 50% of company

A season or a lifetime

I saw a play. Someone was giving advice. Said if a person wants to leave, Let them go.
Said some people in your life are like leaves. They are only meant to be in your life for a season. But people get confused when they put lifetime expectations on people who were only supposed to teach you one thing.
Some people are branches that make you think they're strong and the minute you step out to rely on them they might break.
So find some roots. two or three. People who will always be there for you.

If you have an issue in your relationship and that person tries to fix it then keep them in your life. If they don't care, let them go.

I hope my love is a root. I'm not naive enough to hope this for everyone I meet.
I think people are naive enough to hope this for people they fall in love with (myself included).

I guess love creates those branches. Made of the same stuff as the roots. Just not growing in the same place. Not as secure. Not for the same purpose.
Accept the idea that even some good people are only there for a season. Because they are not for you. They weren't meant for you in the long term. You met them to prepare yourself for the ones you will meet in the future.

Deep Horoscope

A lot of people never got the mothering they needed in order to grow up into the confident, secure lovers of life they have the potential to become. But even greater numbers suffer from a lack of smart fathering. And that happens to be the deprivation that's most important for you Geminis to address right now. If there was anything missing in the guidance and mentoring you got from your actual daddy, I urge you to brainstorm about how you could make up for it in the coming months. For starters, here's one idea: Is there any father figure out there who could inspire you to become more of your own father figure?

Deep Horoscope

If you have long conversations with the image in the mirror this week, I won't call you a megalomaniacal narcissist. Nor will I make fun of you if you paint 15 self-portraits, or google yourself obsessively, or fill an entire notebook with answers to the question "Who am I, anyway?" In my astrological opinion, this is an excellent time for you to pursue nosy explorations into the mysteries of your core identity. You have cosmic permission to think about yourself with an intensity you might normally devote to a charismatic idol you're infatuated with.
