Myth is a manifestation

This is the problem that can be metaphorically understood as identifying with the Christ in you. The Christ in you doesn't die. The Christ in you survives death and resurrects. Or you can identify that with Shiva. I am Shiva-this is the great meditation of the yogis in the Himalayas...Heaven and hell are within us, and all the gods are within us. This is the great realization of the Upanishads of India in the ninth century B.C. All the gods, all the heavens, all the worlds, are within us. They are magnified dreams, and dreams are manifestations in image form of the energies of the body in conflict with each other. That is what myth is. Myth is a manifestation in symbolic images, in metaphorical images, of the energies of the organs of the body in conflict with each other.

Yin Yang

Masculinity and femininity have been around longer than it's appropriate to argue about.
The concepts exist in the universe.
They aren't social constructs
They weren't made up by our oppressive societies.
The ideas are pure in themselves

We are fucking up the balance.
Creating false imbalance.
The person with the penis holds all the masculinity
The person with the vagina holds all the femininity
Every living being holds both.
We rarely cultivate the balance within ourselves
Then we look to others to correct this deficiency.
Instead of working with our true measures,
we try one extreme and force the rest upon someone else.
In being true to yourself, you will find your balance.
You will bring honor to the other by dignifying their balance.

Scientifically, men and women have testosterone and estrogen (hormones that supposedly govern sex). On average, Men have more testosterone than women and women have more estrogen. On average. Meaning there are men and women who live outside of this average. I understand that high levels of testosterone in women and estrogen in men cause health problems
But, this post is about balance.

Misspoken

I know I have said that I don't like people.
That's not true
I think the proper phrase is
People stress me out.
I have a hard time with people, a really hard time

Please don't correct my grammar

There are 50 states in the USA, about 14 territories, and there are over 90 English speaking countries in the world.
None of them have authority over the English language.
Don't know the number of English dialects around the world; but, I'd guess it's enough to make corrections tiresome
If you can understand then leave it alone; if you can't understand, listen harder.

Oddly enough, I'm really strict about my written errors; but, let me make the corrections

Note to self

The continuum

When I use the word continuum, I mean that no two people have the same sexual attractions.

Instead of thinking of it as a line graph between heterosexual and homosexual; I think of it as a scatter plot with homosexual-heterosexual on one axis and penis-vagina on the other; each person has their own individual dot on the graph.

I think of it the same way i do biology. Humans start out gender-neutral. Not both, but neither.

As genes turn on and hormones start flowing, our body takes a unique shape. One way is towards female and another way is toward male. Since no one will receive the same amount of hormones at the same time, everyone's gender is going to be slightly different than the others. There are definite males and females but everyone is unique

I think everyone goes through unique experiences while discovering their sexuality.

Some know they have no interest in the opposite before puberty. Some don't find out they're attracted to the same sex until menopause.

Right now a vast majority of people are attracted to the opposite sex and have never questioned their sexuality.

As society becomes more accepting, I think we're going to see a higher number of people open about their same sex attraction.

This doesn't mean that everyone is going to be bisexual. Just that, hopefully, everyone will be free to express their feelings openly.

As a side note, I'll also think there is a distinction between people with an innate predisposition and people whose behavior is based on other factors. There are people who are genuinely attracted to the same sex and there are others who will have sex with someone of the same sex even if they really aren't sexually attracted to them. I think this really confuses a lot of people. But, people have been having sex with people they weren't attracted to since sex began. Sex can be used for much more than satisfying a sexual urge.

Deep Thought

Dalai Lama
Our visit to this planet is short, so we should use our time meaningfully, which we can do by helping others wherever possible. And if we cannot help others, at least we should try not to create pain and suffering for them.

Prison ID

We can start with what we already know. Like people who have a college education are a lot less likely to end up in jail. And a college education is usually cheaper (for the state) than a jail term.
Like drug abuse is a medical problem not a criminal problem.
I'd personally rather someone atone for their crime by giving back to the community. Be it paying for the damages they caused or the things they stole, or community service.
Then we have those who put other people's lives in danger. I don't have a compassionate solution for this. I encourage self defense at a young age. A lot of violent people will back down when people stand up to them.

Deep Thought

If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion.
Dalai Lama

Deep Thought

I believe that the very purpose of life is to be happy. From the very core of our being, we desire contentment. In my own limited experience I have found that the more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Cultivating a close, warmhearted feeling for others automatically puts the mind at ease. It helps remove whatever fears or insecurities we may have and gives us the strength to cope with any obstacles we encounter. It is the principal source of success in life. Since we are not solely material creatures, it is a mistake to place all our hopes for happiness on external development alone. The key is to develop inner peace.

Dalai Lama

Deep Thought

I believe all suffering is caused by ignorance. People inflict pain on others in the selfish pursuit of their happiness or satisfaction. Yet true happiness comes from a sense of peace and contentment, which in turn must be achieved through the cultivation of altruism, of love and compassion, and elimination of ignorance, selfishness, and greed.
Dalai Lama

Happiness is a choice

to accept the truth in every moment

if you don't think you know what is true
if it causes you suffering, it's probably a lie

New Rule

When someone asks you how you're doing
say one true thing and one good thing

Get out of my head

I'm in my head a lot
I'm not very nice to myself
I interact with people
As a de(s)traction from myself
It's an escape
I don't like talking about myself to other people
I've been talking to myself about myself all day
and I just want to stop

And my silly head feels like I have failed if I have to go to other people with my problems

The dogma

Not to control you but to save you from suffering
To read the bible and the rules put forth
To see that the people who don't follow those rules are suffering
'Sin no more' to mean stop causing suffering in your life.
If sin is any action that causes suffering

What I want from others

Honesty
To share an experience
To hear me

Not judge me
I want to learn from others

to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.

Self worth

My self worth is tied into helping people
feeling like I'm contributing to society
feeling like I belong
that I'm valuable and valued

what other way is there?

Am I valuable to myself?

Movie Quote

Mary Katherine Gallagher: I think they get the point Grandma.
Grandma Gallagher: Wait, I've got two more. When I say tap, you tap, and when I say booga booga, you booga booga.
Maria Ganitisis: What's booga booga mean?
Grandma Gallagher: I don't know, but if I say it you better fuckin figure it out!

or with each other
it's time to say goodbye

State based single payer health care

A relationship with the unemployed

It's possible. If you're worried:
Just don't live with them
Don't enter into any financially binding contracts with them
no joint bank accounts.
Don't pay for everything
Make it clear that they have to support themselves

Finally,
Don't ride their asses
Their financial situation doesn't have to affect you.
Might as well break up with them

If only they'd remember

Let America be America again.
Let it be the dream it used to be.
Let it be the pioneer on the plain
Seeking a home where he himself is free.

(America never was America to me.)

Let America be the dream the dreamers dreamed--
Let it be that great strong land of love
Where never kings connive nor tyrants scheme
That any man be crushed by one above.

(It never was America to me.)

O, let my land be a land where Liberty
Is crowned with no false patriotic wreath,
But opportunity is real, and life is free,
Equality is in the air we breathe.

(There's never been equality for me,
Nor freedom in this "homeland of the free.")

Say, who are you that mumbles in the dark?
And who are you that draws your veil across the stars?

I am the poor white, fooled and pushed apart,
I am the Negro bearing slavery's scars.
I am the red man driven from the land,
I am the immigrant clutching the hope I seek--
And finding only the same old stupid plan
Of dog eat dog, of mighty crush the weak.

I am the young man, full of strength and hope,
Tangled in that ancient endless chain
Of profit, power, gain, of grab the land!
Of grab the gold! Of grab the ways of satisfying need!
Of work the men! Of take the pay!
Of owning everything for one's own greed!

I am the farmer, bondsman to the soil.
I am the worker sold to the machine.
I am the Negro, servant to you all.
I am the people, humble, hungry, mean--
Hungry yet today despite the dream.
Beaten yet today--O, Pioneers!
I am the man who never got ahead,
The poorest worker bartered through the years.

Yet I'm the one who dreamt our basic dream
In the Old World while still a serf of kings,
Who dreamt a dream so strong, so brave, so true,
That even yet its mighty daring sings
In every brick and stone, in every furrow turned
That's made America the land it has become.
O, I'm the man who sailed those early seas
In search of what I meant to be my home--
For I'm the one who left dark Ireland's shore,
And Poland's plain, and England's grassy lea,
And torn from Black Africa's strand I came
To build a "homeland of the free."

The free?

Who said the free? Not me?
Surely not me? The millions on relief today?
The millions shot down when we strike?
The millions who have nothing for our pay?
For all the dreams we've dreamed
And all the songs we've sung
And all the hopes we've held
And all the flags we've hung,
The millions who have nothing for our pay--
Except the dream that's almost dead today.

O, let America be America again--
The land that never has been yet--
And yet must be--the land where every man is free.
The land that's mine--the poor man's, Indian's, Negro's, ME--
Who made America,
Whose sweat and blood, whose faith and pain,
Whose hand at the foundry, whose plow in the rain,
Must bring back our mighty dream again.

Sure, call me any ugly name you choose--
The steel of freedom does not stain.
From those who live like leeches on the people's lives,
We must take back our land again,
America!

O, yes,
I say it plain,
America never was America to me,
And yet I swear this oath--
America will be!

Out of the rack and ruin of our gangster death,
The rape and rot of graft, and stealth, and lies,
We, the people, must redeem
The land, the mines, the plants, the rivers.
The mountains and the endless plain--
All, all the stretch of these great green states--
And make America again!

work, meh

Most Geminis, in fact, don't really like to work. They do it for their sense of dignity or for money and prestige, but it's rarely because they actually enjoy it. For Gemini, work is a means to an end. Many Gemini women wouldn't mind taking off from work and having their husbands take care of them. Of course, they'd be bored in no time. And, heaven forbid that their husbands might ask them to pick up a vacuum and clean — that would be the end of their time in the house.
